Hi, it’s day 69 of my Facebook Live Challenge.
Are you an artist who is working in a job to pay the bills and wish that your art was your full-time gig? I help creative Melbournian women who work and create spend more time creating by doing their social media for them.
I’m Sue McVeigh VA, and I love the creative side of my work, which is working in Canva, designing social media posts, banners for social media, also documents, marketing materials, to print, eBooks, PDF, downloadable PDF, lead magnets, and I work creatively with artists to help them do this.
So I would love to talk to you, or if you know somebody who I’ve just described, please get them to call me or message me, because I love working with artists.
Thank you, and I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye.
Hi, it’s Sue McVeigh, VA. And, today is day 68 of my Facebook Live Challenge. A few months ago, I came across some business books that I’ve had for years, since my first business, which was probably 21 years ago. And, these books never go out of style because, basically a good business book will always be easily adapted. This is, Who Moved My Cheese by Dr. Spencer Johnson. And, it was first printed in 1998, so 22 years. And, I love how it says it’s a simple parable that reveals profound truths. It is an amusing and enlightening story of four characters who live in a maze, and look for cheese to nourish them, and make them happy. Cheese is a metaphor for what you want in life, whether it’s a good job, a loving relationship, money, or a position, health or spiritual peace of mind. …
Hi, it’s Sue McVeigh VA and today is day 67 of my Facebook Live Challenge, it’s Sunday evening it’s still a little bit light outside with daylight savings.
I want to ask you some questions about your Sunday. Have you set up the rest of your week? Ready and raring to go? Is your social media scheduled? Facebook? Instagram? LinkedIn? Pinterest? Twitter? Is it in, is it locked in, scheduled? One thing off your list. Don’t forget to share random posts during the week, maybe behind the scenes, you know, light bulb moments, anything that you may add to your already scheduled posts and maybe complement those by throwing in a few others in the moment, on the go posts. Are your Facebook Live and IGTV topics jotted down? Just to get a rough idea of what you’re going to say throughout the week and that would be for me to actually start doing IGTV. …
Hi, it’s Sue McVeigh VA and today is Day 66 of my Facebook Live Challenge and I’m thinking about Christmas and it is 10 weeks. It was 10 weeks till Christmas yesterday, so think ahead to what your business, what you’re offering in your business for Christmas. What I’m offering is to save you time so you can get your other work done, so do you need to work out your Christmas card list? Do you need to do corporate gift packages? Do you need to do checklists for things that you need to get organised before Christmas, a countdown list, anything like that that, you may need help for designs for Christmas cards, for Christmas promos, some social media posts for Christmas promos, for your Facebook ads, what else would you need to prepare your business for Christmas? Plenty of time to order anything if you need it because delivery will be a bit slower this year of course. Have a think about what you need to organise for Christmas for your work and for your workers, your clients already. …
Hi it’s Sue McVeigh VA and today is Day 65 of my Facebook Live Challenge. I have a sinus headache so I’m not feeling the best and not really thinking of too much that I want to share so I’m just gonna say hello and be kind to each other this weekend, be kind to yourselves and do something for yourself this weekend that you’ll be grateful for on Monday morning when we’re back into it all.
So thank you and I will see you tomorrow.
Bye
Hi, welcome to Day 6 of my Facebook Live Challenge.
Are you overwhelmed by the thought of all the little touches needed to make an engaging and eye-catching piece of marketing?
I’m Sue McVeigh VA and I love to cook. I love to eat. It’s like cooking a dish for the first time you look at all the list of ingredients and the method and it seems overwhelming. Then you place all the ingredients on your bench and it looks more overwhelming. But once you follow the recipe step by step you can suddenly see the dish coming together. …
Hi, it’s Sue McVeigh, VA, and it’s Day 24 of my Facebook Live Challenge. I was listening to some coaching calls in the challenge I’m doing and they’re talking about 30 days of publishing. That’s what they’ve encouraged us to do. And it’s 30 days… Well it’s a 30 day challenge, but it’s also 30 days because they say it takes 40 days to create a new habit, 20 days to break an old habit, 20 days to form new neural pathways. So by the time you get to 31, obviously it’s natural and it’s something that you keep doing. …
Hi it’s Sue McVeigh VA and today is day 64 of my Facebook Live Challenge, I was asked today what I’ve learned in my 63 days of publishing of putting myself in front of this phone and pressing record, pressing live and doing it I think I’ve learned that it’s like everything it gets easier as you go along but the first you know few weeks it’s so uncomfortable and you you just keep wondering what you’re going to say even if you’ve got notes in front of you and then you start to read the notes and you feel a bit robotic, it’s just being comfortable in yourself to just to share what you what you want to tell people what your observations, what your learnings, your lessons, your mistakes, your successes, your failures, your being human and you know if one person out there is watching and gets something out of it that’s positive for them my work here is done. You know I encourage everyone to do this even if you’re not in business just for yourself, it’s so freeing because I think previously I had been sharing videos occasionally, I got a lot a lot of response, great positive feedback and I really didn’t record them, like I didn’t re-record, I just recorded in one take, so what’s the difference? But the difference is that this is as it is, it is like as you’re speaking, it’s live and it’s just that little bit different but I’m so comfortable, you know after day 64 I think I would want to become more comfortable in this space. But it’s also going back to I did find it natural, I did I do find it easy to talk on video, it’s just a matter of just being more comfortable and providing more value to my audience and helping people where I can, connecting people where I can and just saying that we’re all human, you know no one is perfect, none of us is perfect, we’re doing the best we can with what we have and what we know, and when we know better we do better but at the moment you know you’re doing exactly as well as you can and don’t beat yourself up, don’t talk yourself down, you know sometimes you think of the things you say to yourself would you speak to a friend like that? Would you say those things to a friend? No you wouldn’t because they wouldn’t be your friend, they would be too upset. So just be aware of what you’re saying to yourself and we are amazing. People are amazing, people are good. People are good, I really do believe. And I believe in karma, if you do good, you put good out into the world it’s going to come back, it’s just the way it is, it’s the way of the Universe. You know the last couple of weeks we have had some really really big good news in our family in our home here and we celebrate. We have to embrace it and just be grateful because you know it may stop you in your tracks and go “but other people aren’t experiencing, other people are doing it really tough”. You know what, we are coming up to three years in November since my husband’s accident that set us on this track that we’re on now and it has taken us as a family unit of working together of just being there for each other it’s taken us nearly three years to come full circle and to be able to celebrate and have good news and not worry about what’s coming next, just to be grateful because the more we’re grateful for, the more that comes into our home and into our lives. We just yeah we’re grateful for each other, for being healthy and happy and crazy and wacky and funny and loving and hugging and just to be able to be in each other’s presence and not want to kill each other while most of the time — but we sort of have had that journey in our family and we’re coming out of that. That’s why I think we’re quite calm when it comes to the isolation, the lockdown doesn’t mean we’re you know happy with it, but we’ve been in our own situation, our own financial situation, our own you know having an injury having a long-lasting injury my husband has so that’s our we’ve had our our really tough times and of course we’ll have tough times in the future but we really you know we think well we wholeheartedly believe that we’re good people and you put good out there it’s going to come back and it’s come back to us so we’re just grateful and yeah that’s all I wanted to say, so Happy Thursday I can’t believe it’s Thursday and it’s halfway through October. …
Hi, it’s Sue McVeigh VA, and today is day 63 of my Facebook Live challenge. And it’s another daylight video, which is lovely. It’s just after 6:00 PM in Melbourne, and you can still hear the birds chirping. I have the back door open, getting some beautiful, fresh air into my workspace, which is lovely. And I am… Yeah, doing my video while we decide what’s for tea, the family. The big kids are watching something scary on TV, so we are… I’m just going to mark some time until we decide what we’re going to eat. Today I was sharing… I’ve been working out my social media planning for my own business, and it’s… Sometimes it’s… I’m the biggest overthinker, but then sometimes the easiest, simplest thing is the best. And you need to find out more about your audience, and they need to find out more about you, which I have shared previously about my passions, and finding out… Letting everyone find out more about me. But today I will talk about engaging with your audience, finding out about them. Now, I love talking about me. I don’t know about you, do you like talking about me? I do. I’m one of those people that loves to do a survey. Somebody will call and say, “Have you got five minutes?” “Of course I can, of course I have. I’m going to do the survey.” I love it. Who doesn’t like talking about themselves? Maybe some people. But the thing is that if you are genuinely interested in what people have to say about themselves, and you ask a question, and then you pause and listen for the answer, and you’re not waiting to respond, you’re actually wanting to learn about them. So for example, yesterday, I shared on my Instagram and Facebook, my business accounts, your favorite flower. And I had lots of responses. There were gerberas, there were tulips, there were peonies. Peonies, I wasn’t quite sure what they were, but they’re gorgeous, very, very beautiful. And there were so many others, and it was just lovely to hear, and to see, because people shared a photo of their favorite flower so I could see them. And I’m not great with flowers, or gardens, and things like that, but you can always learn. And if I wasn’t sure I’d ask a question, “What is it called?” So then we’re still learning about other things, but we’re still learning about people and what they like. And we’re all different, and then we’re all the same, so it’s lovely to find out. And I came across this amazing, amazing… A lot of questions I had… I bought a calendar last year, social media marketing calendar from an amazing lady Angie Gensler online. And she has questions to ask your audience, and 52 questions on a list, so one for every week, just to put in there when you’re planning your social media, “Okay, well, maybe tell me Tuesday.” And say, “Tell me about you.” So you’re going to ask them. I love this one, because I love, “Would you rather read the book, or watch the movie?” Me, movie. Some people, book. I have been unable to read books for quite a long time. It’s something about concentration span, something about… Oh, I’m not quite sure. But I had to let it go, because I loved to read books when I was younger, and younger adult. You know what? It’ll come back, but at the moment, I’m learning different ways. And I do learn visually, so I love to learn… Yeah, I love watching movies. We’re movie people, we love movies. Our kids quote movie lines. That is a mark of our parenting success, is when our kids quote their first movie line. And sometimes we will sit round the table and we will just talk in movie quotes the whole time. Love a movie, love movie quotes, oh. Or a song will come on, and you go, “Oh, which movie is that from?” To find out. So yes, I do prefer the movie to the book. But there’s some great, engaging questions to ask your audience, to find out more about them, and also to learn more about different topics. So I am just about to… I’ve created three already that have… I’ve created the graphics for them in Canva. And I’ve put the question on them, and I’m going to slot them into my Later scheduling media library, and then I will be sharing them out over the next couple of weeks. So yeah, so learning more about your audience is really important for connection. Thank you, and I will see you tomorrow. …
Hello, it’s Sue McVeigh, and it’s day 62 of my Facebook Live challenge. And tonight it’s a challenge to actually get my recording done because my gorgeous family have been told a couple of times to be quiet. And they’re just a little bit too excited. So, they’ve been shushed several times. I do have a sign on my door that says, “Please be quiet, I’m recording.” That sign might be there all the time, but I did stick my head out the door and said, “I’m Recording.” And they were quiet, and they were quiet, so I was recording my first try. And I was waffling on a bit, maybe that was a sign to redo, but they just started talking really loudly. And it’s lovely to have everyone here, but gee-whiz keep it down. But that’s the thing, that’s what you have with the family. And I’m probably the loudest one of the lot. But yes, I was talking about what you need help within your business, what you need help within your life. I love to outsource, I love to connect people with businesses. So, if you have something you’re looking for that you’re unable to find. I have so many connections and so many amazing people that I know and would love to connect you with. So, if you’re ever in doubt, whatever you need, just let me know. And I can see if I know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody. But yes, so thankfully I’m a bit more lighter now that I’ve had a bit of a giggle and an eye roll at the family, but it’s all good. It’s all good. I’ve had a bit of a flat day. So, trying to recover from my marathon of working, working, working, working, working, and it all hit me today. And it’s just take it easy, take it quietly, and I will see you tomorrow. Thank you. …
